First time

One of the wonderful things about newborn babies is the “first time” phenomenon. First time going out in the baby carrier, first time at the farm, first time going out for a walk in the stroller with his sister, first time being held by his sister ... Their first year is full of “first times” where us, marveled parents, stare in amazement and try to capture those precious memories on camera to be remembered forever.

Some other photos are taken, not because it’s a first time, but just because your kids are so friggin’ cute ;)

Emma also had a “first time” this week: first time feeding a farm animal!

Apple picking was closed at the time we went so we’ll have to go back next week for our annual apple-picking activity J

Baby Alexander

Baby Alexander was born Wednesday, August 29th 2012 at 10:09, weighing 7lbs, 14oz. I was induced (again) and after a relatively short but very intense labor (again), Alex was delivered via an emergency c-section after being stuck “there” for a few hours (hmmm... déjà vu!). The good thing about a c-section is that they give you really good drugs afterwards ;). The bad thing about it is that the drugs given during the procedure sometimes end up not working the way they were supposed to ... but none of that matters in the end; the only thing that matters is this perfect little baby.

We’ve been home a for a few days now and so far Alex is being the perfect baby; sleeping well, eating well and barely crying.

Emma is still unsure about the whole new brother business ... but she is definitely sure about loving birthday cakes! Even her mommy’s birthday cake J
